Quite glad they prevailed in the shoot-out...they hit 5 posts in regulation! Tuuka's looking good, the Rangers & Flyers are 0-2, and when the timing of guys like Horton and Bergeron get clicking they're poised to do some real damage.

Hamilton looks like he could be a keeper as well!

Go Broons!

Ain't that the best?

Too bad you didn't get a chance to see them in the old Garden. Nothing like watching Terry O'Reilly beat the crap out of someone while you fought off a rat trying to steal your nasty, tasteless hot dog.

I remember going to playoff games with SRO tics and having the time of my life.

I my first ever hockey game was at the Garden. Stan Jonathan won the 7th player award that night. Then he went on to shoot somebody.

One of my favorite sports trivia snippet is that at the time Derek Sanderson signed a deal with the Philadelphia Blazers of the World Hockey Association in 1972 he became the world's highest paid professional athlete, exceeding even Pele.

I was almost named Derek after him. That was a great line regarding Sanderson last week on 30 Rock. So random.

The song Boat Drinks by Jimmy Buffett is about Derek in a round about way

Here is the urban legend. Also, if you haven't seen the video, from this same run of shows, Jimmy exercised the curse of the Bambino and it worked a month later.

Oh you are so right. My father took me to my first Ranger game at the old Garden.Hockey back then was not on tv like it is now and I really had no idea what happens when the home team scores a goal.Well I soon found out.About 16k fans all stood and screamed in unison and scared the shit out of me.I was hooked after that and being there is so much better than tv because you could see how the defense sets up while the offense is doing there thing and watch shift changes and well the experience of just being is way better.

I'm watching the Caps at the Rangers on tv. The organ player at MSG was playing the opening riff to the song 'Anthem' by Rush. Awesome!
